Leadership & Management
Finding the Right Leader. It's a Process.
The right leader changes everything. Finding that leader is a process: three phases of alignment, transparency, and post-placement partnership engineered to deliver hires that hold over time.

This week's Executive Edge comes directly from our Managing Partner, Michael Moore. His perspective on what separates a search that delivers from one that doesn't.
Most executive searches don’t fail because of candidates.
They fail because of lack of alignment and poor process.
If you’re hiring passive talent, your search partner needs to act as an extension of your business.
That starts with real alignment:
What does “good” actually look like?
Why would someone leave a strong role for this opportunity?
What genuinely differentiates your business and why should a top performer choose it over something else?
If we can’t answer those questions properly, we won’t convert the right people.
Execution is where most searches fall down.
Spraying LinkedIn InMails isn’t a strategy. A proper search means mapping the market, targeting the right individuals, and actually getting access to them not just hoping they respond.
But even that isn’t enough.
The best decisions are made with the best data.
That’s why:
We provide weekly search reports and structured updates
Clients have real-time visibility via our CRM portal. Every candidate identified, assessed, rejected (by who and why), submitted and in process
We carry out 360-degree referencing and off-the-record conversationsto build a true picture beyond the CV
Contingent models can deliver good candidates.
But if you haven’t properly mapped and assessed the market, you can’t confidently say you’ve hired the best, only the best available at the time.
That’s the difference with a retained partnership.
More commitment = deeper search = better outcomes.
Executive search isn’t about volume. It’s about alignment, precision, transparency, and data.
Anything less, and you’re leaving it to chance.
